XAQ U DOOD Organization for Mothers and Children with Special Need is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers and children with special needs. Originally established as SOWOD NGO, the organization recently underwent a name change in January of 2021 to better reflect its mission and goals.
This change followed a thorough review of the organization’s mandate, structure, and objectives during a general assembly amongst board members.

Were We Work
The XAQ U DOOD organization functions as a membership-based in Republic of Somaliland, with its headquarters located in the capital city of Awdal and Selel regions, Borama. In an effort to expand their operations, XAQ U DOOD intends to establish satellite offices in major Somaliland urban centers such as Hargeisa, Berbera, Burao, and Erigavo.
Our vision at XAQ U DOOD is to become the premier organization that envisions a society where individuals with disabilities, particularly mothers and children, are recognized, appreciated, empowered, and fully integrated into their respective communities. We strive to provide indiscriminate access to resources and opportunities across the Somaliland population.
XAQ U DOOD exists for advocating, motivating, and empowering the people with special needs, specifically children and mothers towards developmental and awareness campaign interventions including, education and employment skills, health, peace building and human rights and gender mainstreaming to strength and build the morale and level of confidence for these vulnerable groups.
Value and Principles
XAQ UDOOD Charity Organization believes in the values of compassion, empathy, and inclusivity. Our principles center around the idea that every disabled child deserves the opportunity to live a dignified and fulfilling life, regardless of their circumstances.
